I am making some re-arrangements because of divorce. During our marriage my ex-husband and I gave you our funeral service plans through your pre-arrangement method, and paid for it in full. I now want quite different arrangements. Surely you aren't going to hold me to the original agreement? PERSONAL ANSWERS Gordon Power, an experienced funeral director at Mcinnis and Holloway, explains how situations like these are handled: Of course not! Our pre arrangement program is designed to be very flexible, and recognizes that needs may change over a period of time. In circ*mstances such as yours where the family structure has been altered, it would be best, I think, to undertake totally new planning.

We will be pleased to help you at any time you wish to do so. I can assure that the financial arrangements you made previously would not be jeopardized in any way. Pre-need programs can be updated and changed at any time. In fact, we recommend that any pre-need plan be reviewed every five years or so, in much the same way as you look over your will regularly to see that it is still applicable in changing family situations.
